The story of how I became Anas Kashmiri is an interesting journey that started in my childhood. I studied in an Islamic madrasa, but life never confined me to just one field. Since childhood, I have studied outside Kashmir, and wherever I went, people called me "Kashmiri."
Whenever someone from Kashmir moves outside, no matter what their real name is, people naturally refer to them as "Kashmiri." This became a new identity for me, something that people instinctively associated with me.
Even during my madrasa days, people used to call me "Anas Kashmiri." Over time, this name became a part of me. When I used to write my name in my school books, I felt a special connection with it. Slowly, I made "Anas Kashmiri" my official identity.
Later, when I joined social media, I saw it as an opportunity to embrace my true self. I added "Kashmiri" to my name so that people wouldn’t just see me as an individual but also recognize my roots, my story, and my land.
Today, "Anas Kashmiri" is more than just a name; it is a story. It is not just my identity but also a voice for every person who never wants to forget where they
come from.
